How to remove chocolate stain from your carpet

The kids’ party left you with chocolate stains on your carpet?

If you can remove it as soon as possible you can get it all off without any trouble.

The Woolmark Company suggests the following steps to remove chocolate stains from your wool carpet:
Using a knife or a spoon scoop out excess chocolate on the surface of the carpet. Mix one teaspoon of white vinegar with one teaspoon of wool detergent and one litre of warm water and soak a piece of cloth in this solution. With the cloth work the stain inwards from the edge using a dabbing and blotting motion.
Ensure you don’t over wet the stain and don’t rub as you may spread the stain and cause further damages.
Then soak a cloth in a dry cleaning fluid, lighter fuel or mineral turpentine and work the stain as you did with the previous solution. Remove excess moisture by blotting the area.
Using a non-coloured sponge or a white cloth apply clear cold water to rinse the treated area working the stain inward as previously.
Avoid rubbing and remove excess moisture.
To accelerate the drying process apply a clean cloth on the area and blow dry with a fan.
If unsure about the correct cleaning procedures or if the stain fails to respond to the treatment, call a professional carpet cleaner as quickly as possible.
